GARDENING CIRCLE

The Gardening Circle of the Lyceum Club met in the club rooms yesterday, when Mr. A. C. Pye addressed the members on the culture of flowering shrubs and trees, of which thero are some 3000 known varieties. Mr. Pve made a plea for the grouping of shrubs, this method being more effective than individual planting. Many useful hints wore given as to pruning and suitable localities for different varieties, and a list of imported shrubs suitable to New Zealand conditions was also given. A voto of thanks to Sir. Pye terminated a most instructive meeting.
