DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORTS
" LITTLE FEAR OF QUOTA" MR, J. B. WRIGHT'S VIEWS [bv telegraph—OWN- correspondent] HAMILTON. Tuesday " I am satisfied—and the sources of information are reliable —that there is little fear of any quota being imposed on New Zealand dairy produce," said Mr. J. B, Wright. London manager of Amalgamated Dairies, Limited, at a smoke concert attended by committee members of the New Zealand Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Limited, this evening. Mr. Wright said that Major W. E. Elliot had stated that there had been no intention of putting a quota on New Zealand, and that there was now no intention of bringing in any quota on dairy produce as the English producer had received a substantial subsidy on his milk supply. How long that subsidy would be paid to the industry ho did not know. He had good reason for saying that even at the expiry of the Ottawa agreement, continued Mr. Wright, it was very unlikely that any proposals would be made for a quota for New Zealand dairy produce. Referring to Mr. Dynes Fulton s recent visit to England Mr. Wright said ho was very well received by the dairy produce trade, by bankers, civil servants and politicians.
