TRADE OF BRITAIN INCREASES FOB JULY SEVEN MONTHS COMPARED LONDON, August 15 The Board of Trade returns for July show that the value of imports totalled £58,020,218, an increase of £4,319,991 compared with July, 1933. The value of exports was £33,229,621, an increase of £3,382,280, and of re-exports of £4,128,719, a decrease of £195,000. The principal increases were:—lmports: Living food animals, £435,000; meat, £472.000; beverages and cocoa preparations, £857,000; wood and timber, £1,878,000; rubber, £838,000; iron and steel and manufactures thereof, £415,000; non-ferrous metals and manufactures, £365,000; machinery, £380,000. Exports: Iron and steel and manufactures thereof, £713,000; machinery, £517,000; cotton yarns and manufactures, £466,000; woollens and manufactures. £275,000. The chief decreases were:—lmports: Grain and flour, £503,000; other food, £524,000; raw cotton, £1,077,000; wool, £411,000.
