STANDARD OF CREAM
DECISION BY COMPANY REJECTION OF SECOND GRADE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] NAPIER, Thursday Anticipating any action that may be taken by the authorities to tighten up the grading of cream, the Heretaunga Co-operative Dairy Company will this year not accept second grade cream. An announcement to this effect was made yesterday by Mr. D. G. Begley, chairman of directors, when addressing the shareholders and suppliers at Waipukurau. Mr. Begley's remarks arose out of a section in the annual report of the company. It wqs stated that it is likely that the Dairy Commission will recommend the tightening up of grading, and it was asked that suppliers assist factory managers to produce the best quality by supplying only the best quality of cream. "I suspect that the report of the commission will make special reference to the improvement of the quality of dairy products and to the handling of raw material," said Mr. Begley. "The director of the Dairy Division, Mr. W. M. Singleton, recently Btated that the time was ripe for tightening up the regulations."
