FRENCH SEAMEN
PLAN TO RAISE WAGES INCREASED TARIFF PARIS, August 14 A 4 per cent increase in the majority; of the French customs duties is to be introduced for the purpose of raising about £2,000,000 to subsidise the wages of the men in the mercantile marine. The new duties will be enforced as from August-16.
