MEAT QUOTA PROBLEM
REPLY FROM BRITAIN " PURELY ARGUMENTATIVE " [BX TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL REPORTER] WELLINGTON, Wednesday A reply to the latest representations made by the New Zealand Government in connection with the meat quota proposals was received from the British Government to-day by the Prime Minister, Mr. Forbes. It is understood that the cablegram was related entirely to the three submissions made by the New Zealand Government, namely, the position of the pork industry, the position of the chilled beef industry, and the prospective exports of New Zealand during the second portion of the current export season. e The points raised by the British Government are described as being purely argumentative, and the text of the reply of the New Zealand Government has not yet been decided.
