OTAHUHU INTERESTS
A recommendation by its Works Committee that no action should be taken in connection iwith tho suggestion of the Institute of Architects regarding tho height of dwelling-house rooms was adopted by tho Otahuhu Borough Council last evening. At u previous meeting tho institute requested the council to consider altering its building by-laws to permit of rooms of dwellings being constructed at a minimum height of Bft. Gin. The minimum height fixed by the council was between 9ft. and 10ft. A suggestion that the council should maintain the fences of its Princes Street recreation reserve and not call ui)on grazier lessees to do so was made by Mr. li. B Todd. The Parks Committee reported that certain repairs had been effected and the town clerk had been instructed to point out to tenants their responsibility under the terms of the leases of grazing rights. Mr. Todd said a considerable amount of expenditure was permitted on the other parks and it was unfair to neglect this particular reserve. It was decided to ask tlip Parks Committee to inspect the reserve and report to the council.
