THIEVES IN SUBURBS
TOBACCO TAKEN FROM SHOP Two cases of burglary were reported to the police yesterday. A quantity of cigarettes and tobacco was stolen from the Surrey Crescent, Grey Lynn, branch of the Blue and Whit© Stores, Limited, by intruders, who effected entry to the premises some time on Monday evening or early yesterday morning. No attempt to steal any other goods was made, and it is thought that the burglary was the work of youths. Thieves entered the home of a resident of Brighton Road, Parnell, on Monday evening, while the occupiers were absent. Entry was gained by forcing open a window. Although a thorough search was made of the premises, nothing was taken.
