Contessa Edda Ciano, the eldest daughter of Signor Mussolini, is on a holiday visit to her friends, the Italian Ambassador and Donna Antonietta Grandi, at the Embassy in Grosvenor Square, wrote our London correspondent on June 28. There is no political significance in the Contessa's presence in London, and no set programme of public functions has been arranged. Someone, who knows the Contessa said: "She has her father's dark, piercing eyes, and a nice smile. She is not very tall, but everybody finds her charming." She has a quick mind and a lot of determination. She is 23, has one son, born in October, 1932, and a daughter, born last December. Her husband is Count Galeazzo Ciano, a good-looking young diplomat, attached to the Italian Foreign Office in Rome. He was for a time Consul-General in Shanghai. He is the son of Count Ciano, President of the Italian Chamber, one of Signor Mussolini's most trusted friends.
