AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION It was reported at the last meeting of thft Auckland Basketball Association that Miss M. Deighton would be unable to travel with the Auckland representative team to participate in the Dominion tournament at Dunedin. and it was agreed that Miss E. Hunt should replace her. The executive resolved to extend an invitation to the Henderson Club to play an Auckland Club team at Windmill Road on September 1. The selectors of the second grade representative team were instructed to choos® a side to play at Otamatea on September 8. PAPAROA TOURNAMENT [BY TEI/EGRArH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] PAPAROA, Tuesday Over 200 people attended the annual tournament of the Otamatea Basketball Association on Saturday at Paparoa. Seven teams competed. The winners of the competitions were:—Basketball, Matakohe; marching competition, Matakohe; overhead and tunnel ball, Kaiwaka; zig-zag relay, Kn,iwaka; ball passing, Kaiwaka; relay, Marohemo. Kaiwaka won the cup in connection with the tournament with six points, Matakohe being second with five points. The season's basketball competition wai won by the Marohemo team.
