WORK OF TREE PLANTING n —: [ r.v TEMSC RAI'H —OWN COKR KSPONDENT] TAURANGA, Tuesday A magnificent aspen poplar trcQ. one of the largest trees of its kind in the Dominion, which is opposite the post office, is now being pruned in accordance with the instructions of a Government expert, Mr. W. C. Hyde, who lias made a/special report on the tree, an<l savs it appears that, with the reinoval of a number of broken and decaying branches, and by relieving the load on a few of the main li/nhs, the appearance an'd health of the tree should lie maintained lor a considerable time. •\ plan for the beautifying of the borough area in the neighbourhood of the poplar tree has been adonted by the "Beautifying Society, which will carry out the work immediately. The society has decided to proceed with further beautifying work in H«;rrics Park'' and in the vicinity of the Monmouth redoubt and other parts of the borough. Mrs. K." D. Moarcs has donated to the .society a large number of ornamental trees.
