[by telegraph—own correspondent] THAMES, Tuesday Tli9 Thames Hospital Board at its meeting yesterday received advice from tho Health Department that it was not permissible' for a hospital board to accept money "if at call" in placo of a bank overdraft. By the Hospitals, Act a board's borrowing for maintenance purposes was restricted to the bank overdraft method. An inspection of the recently-reno-vated children's ward at the Thames Hospital was made yesterday by'some of the board members. As a result of efforts .by the staff in raising funds, and with assistance from public subscriptions, tho sum of £9O, which was required for the work, has almost been raised.
