UNSETTLED AND SQUALLY GENERAL RAIN LIKELY The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued last evening by the Government meteorologist, was as follows: —Pressure is still high to the eastward, but a deep and widespread depression now extends from the westward on to New Zealand. The indications are for strong northerly to northwesterly winds, reaching to gale force in places. Christchurch.—The weather yesterday was fine, with a strong north-easterly breeze in the morning, changing to a fresh easterly in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 57.6 degrees. The barometer after falling ia now steady at 29.62 in. Dunedin. —Fine weather, with sunshine and passing cloud, prevailed yesterday. A fresh northerly wind was blowing.
