AVOIDING WAR
CONFERENCE PROPOSED BAPTISTS' RESOLUTION BERLIN. August 9 The Baptist Congress to-day, by an overwhelming majority, passed a resolution in favour of an international conference of Christian Churches to discuss means of avoiding war. The congress also condemned the persecution of Christians in Russia.
