EFFECT IN JAPAN COTTON GOODS DUTIES TRADE DIVERSION PUN By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received August 10, 7.35 p.m.) TOKIO, August 10 The spokesman of the Japanese Foreign Office to-dav reiterated that the Government is considering making representations to Australia in regard to the increased duties on cotton goods. As the r>e\y tariff mostly ntfects Japan, woollen manufacturers are considering means of turning more to NewZealand, South Africa and Argentina.
