THE CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDED *— [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday The annual sparrow shooting championship of New Zealand was held to-dny at Leeston. There were 52 nominations. Conditions were:—Twenty-one birds off tho 21yds mark. Scores were as . followsC. Seddon, Hamilton. 19; S. G. Glennie, Gisborne. 19; W. J. Doyle. Ellesmere, 18: J Stiven, Balclutlia. 18: A. Anderson. Oxford, 18; C. R. Ogier. Christchurch,lß: M. Pratt. Otorohanga, 17. Seddon and Glennie divided the first and second prizes, taking £.' is each. They shot off for the championship lit four birds. Seddon killing all with tho first barrel. Glennie missing three.
