THE HERALDING OF SPRING
Br MARJORIE COOPER. Roto-o-ro,ngi. (Original.)
Spring! wonderful spring, is most auiely coming once again. Yesterday I saw a fruit treo covered with bright pink blossoms right to the topmost branch. Then there was a lady on thd street carrying a lovely bouquet of jonquils, and how beautiful they looked. a I have even had snowdrops flowerins: in my own garden for a fortnight now. What brave little bells they look; just ! as white as the snow that bedecked Pirongia Mountain this morning. And there are the first calves calling out, and what dear little things they are. Then we have that first wee lamb of the season, and how funny and long in the legs he looks. Now surely these are all heralding spring. Nond but the worst pessimist can say that spring is not almost here.
