DAIRYING INDUSTRY

SUNNY PARK COMPANY

STEADY INCREASE IN OUTPUT PAST 3EASON REVIEWED [from OUR OWN con respondent] M4TAMATA. Friday The increase in the factory's production of butter and cheese was commented upon by the chairman of directors, Mr. .T. Bell, who presided at the 'Sth annual meeting of the Sunny Park Co-operative Dairy Company at Te Poi vesterday. About (50 suppliers attended. The annual report, details of which were published in the Hkrat/d on August 2. was adopted. Mr.. Bell said the butter-fat received showed an increase of about 14 per cent. This was due principally to improvements on farms. Since 1930 the company's butter-fat figures had increased by 54 per cent. In the past season the directors had been fortunate in selling several parcels of butter on an f.o.b. basis. It had been more difficult. to dispose of cheese in the same way, however, as cheese buyers were not working on an f.o.b. system until well on in the season.

The company's finances were in a very sound position, Mr. Bell said. Buildings, plaut and other property had been paid for from share capital, and in addition there was a useful credit balance.

A dividend of 2| per cent on the amount paid-up on shares at May 31, 1933, was declared. Two retiring directors, Messrs. C. H. Dearlove and H. G. Mudford, were re-elected. Mr. T. A. Hopkins was also elected to the directorate.

The total pay-out for the season was 9.32 d per lb. for butter-fat for butter and 9.55 d for cheese. MILKPOWDER PRODUCTION WAITOA FACTORY'S OPERATIONS

[from our own correspondent]

Regret that suppliers had had to face low prices during the season was expressed by Mr. F. There was an attendance of about 150 suppliers. Mr. Dynes Fulton, chairman of directors of the company, and Mr. C. J. Parlane, general manager, were also present.
