MORE SHIPS TO SAIL
DECISION AT WESTPORT FIVE VESSELS AFFECTED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WESTPORT. Friday The shippnig trouble at Westport has been settled. Representatives of the Seamen's Federation, the president, Mr. T. Walsh, and Messrs. Clarke (Dunedin) and Martin (Lyttelton) conferred today with the crews of the five vessels which have been held up here for over a week, the Alexander, Kiwitea, Canopus, Karetu and Kauna. After a discussion lasting nine hours Mr. Walsh provided the following statement to the press: "The strike is settled with torms agreeable to the seamen." The five ships will leave to-morrow morning for their respective ports. MISSING FIREMEN RETURN KAIMIRO AT GREYMOTTTH [BY TELEGRAPH —rRESS association] GREYMOUTH, Friday Two of the Kaimiro's firemen whose absence delayed the vessel's departure this morning returned at 7 p.m. after
learning of the Westport seamen's decision to resume. The Kaimiro will sail at the first opportunity for Melbourne.
