"BELLE OF NEW YORK"
MUSIC AND COMEDY An exceptionally well-balaivced chorus is said to bo a feature of tho Auckland Amateur Operatic Society's production of the "Bello of Now York," to be staged at His Majesty's Theatre for a short season commencing to-morrow. Noted always for tho attention paid to the musical side of its productions, the society this year has made a special effort to ensure a well-trained body of members who have been specially chosen with a view to their singing qualifications. Under tho baton of Mr. Colin Muston the largo orchestra should give a colourful rendering of the score. Some very catchy, tuneful numbers fall to tho lot of the principals. The play is particularly strong in comedy. A matinee is being held on Saturday. Booking arrangements are advertised. 1
