JAPAN'S DECISION
TRADE WITH DOMINIONS ENDEAVOUR TO EQUALISE AN ADVERSE BALANCE WOOL BUYING SCHEME By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received July 24, 5.5 p.m.) KOBE, July 21 The Japanese Foreign Office is devising a plan for adjusting commercial inequalities. It is its intention to regard the British Dominions as a single unit because, whereas New Zealand and South Africa buy more from Japan than they sell to her, Australia and Canada are big sellers. Last year trade with the Dominions was £16,700,000 adverse to Japan. Therefore, it is contended, the Dominions collectively have no excuse for imposing restrictions on Japanese imports. It is proposed to make an endeavour to equalise trade with New Zealand and South Africa by buying their wool.
