BYRD'S base isolated TRACTOR PARTY RETURNING (Received July 24. 5.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 23 The following wireless message has been received from, the Bvrd Antarctic expedition at Little America. The tractor party, which left the camp on Friday afternoon for the Baling advance base, where Rear-Admiral Byrd is carrying out his lone vigil, was not able to find the trail beyond the 50mile depot owing to the flag-markers being covered by snow. In consequence it is returning to headquarters.
