SUM OF MONEY STOLEN ATTEMPTS THAT FAILED [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN COHRESPONUENTJ PALMERSTON NORTH, Tuesday Securing an entrance by opening a window, an intruder searched two rooms while Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Rabone were entertaining visitors at their home in Featherston Street on Sunday evening, and escaped with £B. Footprints were found on the windowsill. Three unsuccessful attempts wero made during the week-end to make ah unlawful entry into business premises at Palmerston North. The places visited were tho Manawatu Machinery Exchange, in Rangitikei Street, Mr. J. P. Nielsen's dye works, in Main Street East, and the shop of Messrs. Birch and Son, bakers, in Cuba .Street. Marks wero left on tho doors in each case.
