THE TAURANGA CLUB PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES [FROM OUII OWN correspondent] TAURANGA, Tuesday There was n, large attendance at the annual prize-giving night of the Tauranga Yacht and Power-boat Club. Tho trophies won last season were presented by the patron, Mr. A. J. Merriele^s. Mr. Merrielees complimented the club on its splendid efforts in having a clubhouse erected free of debt, lie referred to tho performance of Cf. Carter and 11. Densem in winning the Cornwall Cup in Auckland last sensoil, and staled that tho next contest would bo held at Tauranga. He then presented, tho cup to Mr. P. P. Carter, who accepted it 011 behalf of tho winners.
Mr. Carter, who is commodore of the club and Taurangi delegate in connection with the Com well Cup contests, suitably acknowledged the presentation, , and expressed the hope that Tauranga would be able to retain tho trophy in tho next contest.
