THE FISK SINGERS
The story of the original Fisk Jubilc<* Singers was told by the l?ev. Arthur Mitchell at a meeting of the Mount. Albert Wesley Guild on Monday evening. The story included at: account of the old days of slavery, the great figln. for emancipation, and the efforts made for the education and enlightenment of the freed people. The success of the choir in raising £;}0,0()0 for their own university, together with the difficulties and encouragements experienced 'in their efforts, whs graphically described. The lecture was illustrated by many selections from the Jubilee Melodies, sung by Mr. Mitchell, who prefaced his lecture with a short song cycle.
