SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION
Marked progress in all activities was reported fit the monthly meeting of the council of the Auckland Sunday School Union 011 Monday evening. There was an increase of 463 candidates for the annual -scripture examination, 2289 pupils being entered by 1(59 schools. It was decided to hold the third musical festival for Sunday school choirs in the 'Unity Hall. The general secretary, the Rev. L £. Busfield, reported having held a well-attended series of lectures, for teachers in New Plymouth. An appeal is to be launched for funds to provide a motor-car for the backblocks missioner. The Rev. Dr. C. H. La wis is to commence next month a scries of eight lectures 011 the New Testament in pursuance of the programme adopted by the New Zealand Council of Religious Education. A resolution supporting the Bible in Schools Bill was passed.
