MOSTLY FINE CONDITIONS ISOLATED COASTAL SHOWERB The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued last evening by the Government meteorologist, was as follows; Pressure is still rather low at Chatham Islands. An anti-cyclone covers most of Australia and the Tasman Sea, hut a small cyclone depression is located on the New South. Wales coast. The indications are for westerly to southerly winds, moderate to strong, but decreasing gradually. Seas- Moderate north of the East Cape; elsewhere mainly rather rough to rough, with- a considerable southerly swell. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate southwesterly winds, later becoming variable; seas moderate to rather rough, but decreasing. Weather: Some isolated coastal showers, chiefly in the far north and south, otherwise fine. Temperatures cold, with some hard frosts. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST WEATHER MAINLY FINE The Government meteorologist issued to the Herald last night the following special weather forecast for the Auckland district:—Fresh, but gradually decreasing south-westerly to southerly winds, and a few isolated' showers . are likely, but the weather will be mainly fine. Temperatures will be cold, with some frosts. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland.—: Fine, sunny weather with a light south-east wind was experienced yesterday. After being steady at SO.OOin. for over 24 hours the, barometer rose .lOin. last evening. Barometer, midnight, rising .. 30.101n. Midnight, Monday .. .. 30.00 in! 1 Wellington.—Another beautiful dav was experienced yesterdav. with continuous sunshine. A light northerly wind prevailed in the morning, but after 1 p.m. conditions were practically calm. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 46.6 degrees, and the maximum for the day was 51.1 degrees. Christchurch.—The weather yesterday was calm,'sunny and pleasant, with a maximum temperature of 51.2 degrees after a frost of 6.6 degrees. The barometer was steady, at 29.90 in: Dunedin.—The weather yesterdav was mostly fine and sunny following a cold night and occasional rain and sleet showers. A fresh south-westerly wind prevailed.
