There was a largo yarding of dniry cattle, good Jersey heifers close to calving selling under keen competition. PRICES AT NCARUAWAHIA The New Zealand Loan and ' Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports on the Ngarunwahia stock sa'lo held on Friday as follows:—Only a small yarding of fat and store cattle came forward and prices realised were on a par with recent quotations. There was a large entry of cows and heifers, the majority of which were low in condition, but owing to the small attendance a dull sale resulted. Prince, of Te Awamutu:—Cows, which were duo to calve early, elicited good competition from a large attendance of buyers, but more backward sorts were not as keenly sought after. There was ?keen competition for heifers, though many offered were too backward to arouse much interest. All cattle offered were in pood condition, and were good typc3. A number of breeding sows, which were of very good quality, realised good prices, and a clearance was effected well up to ruling market rates. Several horses were disposed of satisfactorily, a six-year gelding realising £39, and a mare £24 10s. RED POLLS AT FEILDING An increased interest in the dual-purpose ■Red Poll breed of cattle was indicated hv the pricea realised at a sale held by Messrs. Murray. Huberts and Company, Limited, at Feilding last week. A total of 75 lota was offered and prices ranged up to 21 guineas for a bull and ISi guineas for a cow. Buyers wero present from all over the North Island, including tho Auckland district, and there were also South Island farmers activo.

A rising yearling bull. Crimson Mac. was purchased for 18J guineas by Mr.. F. Goodwin, of Pokcno, who also acquired a nine-year-old cow. Vernon Election, which realised 161 guineas, and an eight-months-old calf from the Fcilding Agricultural College, which was disposed of for 15 guineas.
