Freshwater, 5—7, 6 —4, 6 —o. 11l an Anglo-Japanese match at Eastbourne Austin beat Yamagishi, 6 —l, 6—l, 6 —2 and Perry beat Fujikura, 6—l, 2—6, 6—4, 10—8.
