A slightly firmer market existed for Goldsbrough-Morts. Loan and Mereantiles were dealt in £1 cheaper at £57. Since the last business in May Pukcmiros showed a decline of 2s 6d on sale at 245. Auckland Gas were placed unaltered at 2Gs 7d. A loss of ljd in P. and O. Deferred on salo at *2ls ljd ■was followed by firmer support, which also existed for Devonports and Hud-dart-Parker preference. A fall of 4d took place in Kaiapoi Woollens, which were dealt in at lis Id. Apart from a gain of 5d in Consolidated Bricks, which had sale txvice at 7s 9d, movements in other miscellaneous business were of a minor nature. A fractional advance was made by Farmers' Fertilisers to 20s lid and Wilsons Cements strengthened to 30s, a rise of ljd. Transactions in Milno and Choyce debenture stock at 18s 6d and New Zealand Refrigeratings, 10s paid, at 8s sd, represented losses of and Id, respectively.
