MEMBER CENSURED
DISPUTE AT MOUNT ROSKILL BOARD MEETING ADJOURNED A discussion which led to the censure of a member and the temporary adjournment of the board, arose at a meetinc of the Mount Ttoskill Road Board last night, when thtf finance committee's report was being considered. Mr. J. Donald said he had frequently heard assertions that the expenses of a recent deputation of tho board to Wellington had been more than £7O. The accounts had been before the finance committee at its last meeting and lie wished it to be publicly known that the evpenses were less than half the sum stated. "Mr. Chairman, T take that as a direct charge against me," said Mr. d. R. Robertson. " I think taking a taxi to Wellington was a sheer waste of money." The chairman, Mr. C. M. McCullough. said he saw no insinuation in Mr. Donald's remarks and moved that the next business lie taken. He started reading the next item on the agenda paper, but Mr. Robertson remained on his feet and continued speaking. After several warnings Mr. MeCullough moved that- a vote of censure be passed on Mr. Robertson, and this was carried unanimously. " 1 don't care, you can't put that across me," said Mr. Robertson, and remained on his feet. The chairman then adjourned the meeting for five minutes and the majority of the members withdrew into an adjoining room. Mr. Robertson remained discussing the matter with the other members for some time and then withdrew also. T\hen the board resumed the report was adopted.
