PAPATOETOE BALL
TENNIS CLUB FUNCTION
Softly shaded lights and cubicles set in bowers of palms and peach blossom formed a colourful setting for the 19th annual ball of the Papatoetoe Lawn Tennis Club, which was held in Papatoetoe Public Hall last week. A largo attendance of members and friends enjoyed the dance programme of music provided by the Blind Institute Orchestra. The hostess of the evening, Miss K. Waters, received tho guests wearing a gown of cream satin. The ladies' committee responsible for the arrangements comprised r—Miss D. Bryant, wearing blue satin beaute with coatee to match; Miss M. Wilson, blue chiffon velvet; Miss M. McFarland, green and lace; and Mrs. It. G. Sinclair, white satin. The programme was directed by Messrs. E. H. Burnside, S. N. Jolly, and K. M. Leonard. The trophies won during the past season were presented to the winners by, Miss J£. Waters. The club president, Mr. F. M. Waters (who has held office for 19 years) congratulated members on the splendid progress achieved by the club.
