GOODS SERVICES
FURTHER APPLICATIONS Further applications for renewals of goods service licences were heard before tho No. 2 Licensing Authority on Saturday morning. The applications dealt with were in respect of services between Auckland and the Waimauku, Warkworth and Hunua districts, and decision in all cases was reserved. A number of- objections were entered by Mr. G. T. Wilson, district traffic manager for tho Railway Department, particularly regarding the carriage of stock to Westfield. Applicants claimed, however, that except for farmers living close to tho railway line, motor services were more convenient, as the stock reached Westfield earlier and mado tho wholo journey in one vehicle. Further applications will be heard today. It is probable that decisions on deferred cases will not announced for about a week.
