Lieutenant-Commander R. P. Mack, R.N., who recently married Miss M. Vaile, of Auckland, has been appointed to H.M.S. Sussex for the forthcoming tour of the Duke of Gloucester.
Mr. W. Dynes Fulton, chairman of directors of the New Zealand Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Limited, was a v passenger to Frankton from Wellington by the limited express on Saturday morning.
Mr. M. M. McCallum, chairman of the Auckland district racing committee, returned from Wellington by the limited express on Saturday morning after attending the annual racing conference. r
Flight-Lieutenant T. J. Denton, Royal New Zealand Air Force, of Christchurch, has been appointed staff officer to the Director of Air Services. He will retain his appointment of stores and equipment officer at Wigram aerodrome.
Mr. E. Casey, assistant genera! manager of railways, who is acting as general manager during the absence of Mr. G. H. Mackley in Australia, arrived by the limited express on Saturday morning. He returned to Wellington last evening.

Major H. D. McHugh, M.C., who ii to succeed Major P. H. Bell in the position of staff officer, No. 1 Regimental District, in the Northern Command, arrived in Auckland on Saturday morning. Major McHugh, who waa, accompanied by Sirs. McHugh, has been stationed at Inveroargill. Major Bell has been transferred to the Southern Command. He will be stationed in Christchurch, and will occupy the position of general staff officer.
