DEVONPORT SHIELD MATCHES DRAW FOR LADIES' GAMES The first series of matches in the Auckland Hockey Association's competition for the Devonport Shield will he played at Remuora to-morrow. Papatoetoe will play St. Luke*a on the Xo. 'i ground at 8.5 p.m. Of the early panics that between "Wesley and University on the Xo. "J pround should he the more interestinc, as a draw resulted when the teams met last Saturday. The remaining senior same will he between Somervillo and North Shore. Thursday In defence of (lie Nordon Cup. the Bastings hockey representatives soundly defeated "Wuirarapu this afternoon, the final score being five goals 1o one. The game was ex ; ceptionally fast and interesting, notwithstanding tho facl that the holders of the trophv had more or less a monopoly of the scoring. On the play, Hastings deserved to win. Wairarnpa played better than tho score indicated, but lacked the finish so marked iu the play of tho home division.
