BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH'S NEW WATER SUPPLY OFFICIALLY TURNED ON The Mayor of Auckland, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, turning on the water at the Birkenhead reservoir in the presence of a representative gathering yesterday afternoon. Birkenhead now secures its supply from the Auckland City Council's resources, the water being conveyed to the northern shore by a submerged pipeline across the harbour.
