LAKE PUPUKE WATER
JOURNEY TO PERSIAN GULF A bottlo of water bearing upon tho label the words "To Abadan and back." a distance of 17,000 miles was displayed by Mr. H. J. Hatchings at last night's mooting of the Devonport Borough Council. Water from tho Lake Pupuko supply had boon taken in tho storage tanks of the Admiralty oil tanker Nucnla on ApriJ 1, and had proved quite palatablo throughout the tropics and on the tanker's journey to the Persian Gulf. The Mayor and councillors tasted tho sample and expressed their approval of its condition after the journey. Mr. E. Aldridge asked whether the rest of the water of the lake could not be taken to tho tropics-
