BUTTERS COMPARED
DANISH AND NEW ZEALAND LOCAL . PRODUCT SUPERIOR [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday A comparison of the quality of New Zealand and Danish butters was made at the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company's factory at Frankton Junction to-day. The company made arrangements for samples of its finest quality butter and of Danish finest quality butter to bo bought at random in London. Both samples were sent to New Zealand in cold storage. Tho Danish butter, which was made on April 16 last, was packed in a keg. It was of a brand recognised as Denmark's best quality. Experts t who sampled the Danish butter to-day adjudged it to be of second quality. On tho other hand, tho Now Zealand sample, notwithstanding tho fact that it was made in January, nearly four months earlier than tho Danish product, still retained its freshness and was classified as of good finest quality.
There was a marked difference in the general appearance of tho two butters, the New Zealand product being much more neatly packed. Members of the Dairy Commission now sitting in Hamilton visited the Frankton factory this morning and sampled tho two butters.
