ONE TREE HILL AFFAIRS
PROPOSED DOMAIN BOARD Further correspondence was received at a meeting of the One Tree Hill Borough Council last night in connection with the proposal to control the recreation reserve in the vicinity of Carroll * settlement, Onehunga, by a domain board, comprising residents in the vicinity. The commissioner of Crown lands advised that his office had understood that the council offered no objection to the proposed board, and was now awaiting the 1 views of the board before proceeding further. The solicitor for the proposed board wrote explaining the views of tho residents and stated they would still be very pleased for the council to develop tho area if it would. It was decided to postpone consideration until next meeting.
The balance-sheet for the year ended March 31 was returned from the Audit Office, certified as correct. In remarking that there was an entire absence of tags, the Mayor, Mr. I. J. Goldstine, said the fact was particularly satisfactory, as the year's operations included all the loan conversion proposals. The balance-sheet was adopted and a motion was passed congratulating the town clerk and staff.
It was reported that building permits to the value of £1775 had been issued during the past fortnight, making the total value for the half-year £11,071, compared with £3861 during the corresponding period last year.
