WHANGAREI CELEBRATIONS SEVENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY [from our. own correspondent! WHANGAKEI. Saturday The 75th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of tho Presbyterian Church in Whangarei will commence on Sunday, June 24, and continue during the following week. At tho morning service on June 2\ the unveiling and presentation of tho memorial communion ' table will taba place and the Rev. "\V. Day, a past minister, will conduct tho ■ service ami will be assisted by the Rev. B. Hutson, who minister of the charge from 1887 to 1890, and is the oldest living minister of the charge. The Et. liev. D. D. Scott, Moderator of tbo Presbyterian General Assembly of Zealand, the Rev. J. D. McFarlaiie, moderator of tho North Auckland Prwibytery, and Rev. J. A. Thomson,moderator of the Auckland Presbytery., will take part in the celebrations. Tho functions include an old-time soiree in the Town Hall, entertainment of the old pioneers by the session, and a children's function. Tito celebrations will conclude on July 1, when a thanksgiving service, conducted . by Mr. Scott, will bo held.
