EXTENSION AT TAURANGA PART OF WAGE CUTS RESTORED [from our own correspondent! TAURANGA, Saturday Tn his report to the monthly meeting of the Tauranga Electric Power Board, the engineer, Mr. J. R. Bongard, reported that the line across the Waikareao estuary to link the Otumoetai supply with the Judea line had been completed. Work had been commenced on the extension at the upper end of Ohauiti Road. It was decided that the charges on the Katikati township lights bo reduced from £4 12s 6d to £4 5s a light, and that one or more additional lights be erected at the we'stern end of the township. Tho board adopted a motion, by four votes to three, providing for a restoration of 5 per cent on the salaries of employees which had been affected by cuts. TE AWAMUTU DISTRICT REDUCTION IN CHARGES [BY TELECRArH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] TE AWAMUTU, Saturday The To Awamutu Electric-Power Board held a special meeting yesterday, Mr. J. T. Johnson presiding. It was decided" to reduco all street-lighting charges by 25 per cent, and also to reduco all electric water-boiler charges by 10s per boiler per annum. These reductions totalled £404 per annum. After allowing for these reductions the estimated profit for the current year was £1370.
