TOUR IN WAIKATO
THE HON. J. BITCHENER ROAD WORKS INSPECTED . A tour of the northern Waikato was made on Saturday by the Hon. J. Bitchener, Minister of Public Works. Mr. Bitchener, who was accompanied by Mr. D. S. Reid, M.P., and Mr. ~F. S. Dyson, district engineer of the Public Works Department, visited Ngaruawahia, Glen Massey, Rangiriri and Mercer. ' The Minister met deputations who requested assistance to construct a road to Glen Afton and a bridge at Whangape. Several new road works and land development schemes were inspected. The Minister proceeded through Pukekawa, Onewhero and Tuakau to Auckland. The Minister left Auckland on his return to Wellington by the limited express last night.
