NORTH AUCKLAND POSITION SMALL AMOUNT COLLECTED [from our own correspondent] "WHANGAREI, Saturday 111 connection with the county conference to be held at Rotorua on May' 30 to discuss the problem of native rating, Mr. L. Webb, chairman of the North Auckland Counties' Association, will present a stinii'iary of the- position of native rates in the eight counties north of Waitemata. The unimproved value of land in North Auckland owned by natives is £067,:W;». The rate collectable in respect to this during the past three years has been £lO,l-42, and tho amount actually paid, £37. Special" leans rates have not been taken into account, and these amount to several thousand pounds.
