THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE '/ INDUSTRIALS IN DEMAND A fifmer inquiry for general investment shares was accompanied by increased business on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Offers for Government loans fluctuated, but there was a strong general demand, which remained unsatisfied. Dealing in debentures was at current high values. Concessions by holders of bank shares stimulated inquiry in some instances. However, business was confined to Commercial preference, which were released (3s higher at £9 10s, and New Zealand D preference, whi-h were unchanged. Insurance shares wore sought at advanced rates, but supplies generally were firmly held. South British and Queensland sold ai sieadv prices In thejndustrials higher sale prices were general. Colonial Sugars were done Gs.Od higher at £OS, and Bvcrofts twice jit 47s Gd after an earlier transaction unchanged at 475. (Jains of Is were established in sales of Farmers' Auctioneering B preference and Union Oil, while New Zealand Newspapers and Wilsons Cement registered advances of 3d each.
