Saturday Saying that tho council meetings had become a "continued insult to one'sintelligence," and that his time had been flagrantly wasted at many meetings, Mr. G. S. Bates tendered his written resignation to tho Upper Hutt Borough Council. In his letter Mr. Bates gavo frank opinions on tho manner iu wliicli business at tho council meetings was conducted. * Tho council accepted his resignation and referred it to the returning officer.
