OBITUARY
MR. W. E. COREY (Received May 13. 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. May 12 The death has occurred of Mr. William Ellis Corey, who ros;e from the Pennsylvania coalmines to become president of the United States Steel Corporation. Ho was married to Miss Mabel lo Gilmaii, a musical comedy star, in 1907. His age was 68.
Mr. Corey was educated at public schools and Huff's College, Pittsburgh. At the age of 16 he entered the chemical laboratory of the Edgar Thomson Steel Works and he gradually rose in positions of prominence in the steel industry until 1903 when lie became president of the United States Steel Corporation, a post that he retained until 1911. He was a director at various times of numerous mining, iron and steel and other companies.
MR. AGAR . WYNNE k (Received May 13, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, May 18 The death is announced of Mr. Agar Wynne, a former Federal and State Cabinet Minister. He was also a prominent sportsman and racehorse owner.
