FARMS FLOODED
WAIRARAPA DISTRICT FURTHER TROUBLE FEARED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION J MASTERTON, Sunday Hopes thatT the flood danger in thi Lower Wairarapa had been averted by the openiug of the lake outlet to the sea on Friday were disappointed on Saturday, when the flood-gates 111 the small bank east of Lake Wairarapa at the northern end gave way under pressure and banked up the lake waters. A number of farms are flooded, and it'is anticipated that the water will take several weeks to drain away. It is feared that crops and milking sheds, as well as pastures, may be inundated and that the damage will be more or less serious, although all stock may be taken to safety.
