COUNCIL'S FINANCES CREDIT BALANCE OF £ 11.042 [fbom our own correspondent! TE KUITI, Saturday For the year ended March 31, the total receipts of the Waitomo County Council were £39,923, an increase of £3486, compared Vith the previous year, while the expenditure totalled £39,505, a decrease of £3519 on last year's figures. The total revenue amounted to £50.548, and the year ended with a credit balance of £11,042 spread over the various accounts. The collected showed an increase of £7356, compared with the previous year, and amounted to £21,076. Adverse comment was made on the fact that only 2 per cent of the native rates struck had been collected, the chairman remarking that it showed very conclusively what the native rates were worth to the county.
