ARCHBISHOP'S TOUR
BUSY WEEK IN NORTH SERVICES AT PAPAROA [by telegeaph—owx correspondent] PAPAROA, Saturday Continuing his northern tour, Arch-, bishop Averill has spent a busy week in the scattered centres comprising the Paparoa parish. On Monday nifjht, following a service at Matakohe, he attended a men's social at the vicarage in Paparoa. On Tuesday he conducted a confirmation service in the Holy Trinity Church at Maungaturoto. After tha service he attended a parish social,. On Wednesday he preached at Hakaru and Kaiwaka. On Thursday morning, Ascension Day, he administered Holy Communion at St. Mark's Church, Paparoa, and conducted a service in the afternoon at Batley and another in the evening at Waipu. Yesterday afternoon the archbishop attended a garden party at the Paparoa vicarage, and met many visitors from the outlying districts. A mock court conducted by Dr. Dawson, with Messrs. Stratford and Peake as prosecuting and defending counsels, caused much amusement. In the evening the service at St. Mark's Church was conducted by the archbishop, assisted bv the vicar, the Rev. H. Sinclair. The Primate, in his sermon, dealt with the theme of tho resurrection and the ascension. The archbishop left this morning with tho Rev. H. Sinclair by car eu route for Warkworth, where he will hold services to-morrow at the district centres.
