HAMILTON, Friday Co-oporation between the 'Women's Division of the Fanners', Union and the Farmers' Union was sought bv Miss Marshall, president of the Waikato Women's Division at a meeting of the Waikato sub-provincial branch of the Farmers' Union to-day. Miss Marshall outlined the objects of the Women's Division and made, suggestions by which ?. common. cause could be furthered by . tho two bodies working in unison. She said that men and women met together at social gatherings, but when it came to serious business, to parody an old quotation, "men are men and women are women, and never the twain shall meet." The Division was anxious to provide farmers' wives in poor circumstances with housekeepers so that the wives could have a rest or hospital treatment if they needed it. In several cases the division's overtures had been rejected by the husbands, whose excuse was that they would not accept charity. In such matters tho Farmers' Union could bo of assistance to the Women's Division.

Members of the union expressed sympathy with Miss Marshall's suggestions and resolutions were passed offering tho division all the assistance required and to invite tho division to send a representative to the monthly meetings of the executive. It was also decided to ask branches to invito members of the division to attend their meetings and to co-operate with them in every way possible.
